Simplex gala, LBNGR October 1st 2011
Simplex action returned to the Leighton area with 43/44 doing 4 round trips on packed trains. Arkle and Dumbredub were on “skips”
Whilst Stonehenge saw cavalcades of diesel power. A cracking day, with perhaps the highlight a good few making authorised leaps at Appenine Way
Crossing the road, photting the train then rejoining…Just a shame there wasn’t time for a quick pint at the Clay Pipe. A big thanks to the organisers and volunteers, perhaps
a 2 day event next year???, the interest in our historic diesels is clearly there….
