Crewe, LNWR 281209

Unceremoniously dumped outside the LNWR depot are several long lost cans, 86635 with grey machine 86633 alongside. Just visible is the cab of 86602 which has been cut since this view was taken. All these trio of cans were in the original 86’0 sub class into the 80’s.

Gen snippets…Dragged 325 mail units have seen 87002, 86701/2 performing locally though mainly after dark. A very rare 080110 working was 37601 on up “vans” around 1am and a noisy return on S96 dragging 86702…Most have been in darkness though.

On this day in history…090186 73005 dragged SR “swamp units” from Wolverton Wks back to Wimbledon ..Do you have local gen snippets like these??, all very welcome on our expanding local database 1957-2010.
