A day trip to Dingwall, 161111

Using Bargain berth sleeper (Etn-FW and INV-Etn) plus Citylink 919 advance coach fares (FW-INV) a fairly high mileage day trip can be raked in for less than the cost of

a railtour. OK average power, but great fun all the same……………..

16111167007rar.jpg Wonderful early morning light as 67007 leaves Rannoch with 1S25 Fort William portion

16111167007fwr.jpg Sadly Fort William station has about the same character as Stevenage!, 67007 at the blocks

161111158720r.jpg Very different weather at the North’s finest, 158720 in the Dingwall fog

16111143206r.jpg Stopping well short of the blocks at Inverness is 43206 with the daytime service from Kings X, M16 is on the right

17111190028r.jpg Next morning, 90028 is at the blocks with M16, said “Skoda” had worked our S25 north late on 15/11, mileage move!

From better times….perhaps?

290582260341750ikr.jpg And “Muirs’ changed a bit too, 26034 arrives at Muir of Ord with the 1750 Inverness-Kyle, 290582. The Grain silo and sidings are now new housing although a single grain siding survives albeit lost in birch trees
