Whit week at Dawlish, 1971

I suppose many of us had childhood holidays in the Dawlish area. Here are selected logs from 1971, I still have hazy memories of breaking the evening curfew to view the "63er" (class 23) on the evening freight around 2015 each evening!!!

Where are they now…???

My notes from the time claimed "Warships on everything", yet within 4 months the vast majority of Warships had gone.

Phot-spot

Perhaps the most shocking loss since the 70’s was the steady reduction in freight traffic along the sea wall. An "Enterprise" service from Stoke to St Blazey survived in 1990 with 47142 seen here at Teignmouth with a classic mixed consist early on 190990
