The Cumbrian Crusader Railtour, 200310

Don’t do many tours these days and on being advised of an 0505 start ex Int’l I wasn’t that keen. Still a good day out with Spitfire, plus a farce, 7 locos,  and some thrash to boot, ta to messrs Ewer and Chapman for the company and lift!.

In the still of the night the 20’s could be seen and heard as we arrived at the car park. 20301 and 20304 tail the tour

57002 with 47851 (ticking over for therms) make a colourful combo at the departure end of the stock

Dirty weather in the hills as the 20’s power North, With load 12 and a 47/57 in tow there was some rear end assistance up the long drag

The 20’s got much attention on arrival at the border city

“More locos than coaches”, 66843/66432/47851 await departure for Newcastle with the 37’s tailing out of site

Awaiting the road into Central, 37601 and 608 look good just off King Edward bridge, just prior to returning the tour to Brum
